CRUISE 2000 - EPHESUS
|
|
| Sad to relate but this was our last day. We left the ship at Kusadasi to travel the short distance overland to Ephesus. Here stands the remains of a once magnificent Roman city. It ranked in size along Rome and Alexandria in Roman times. However, it was abandoned because the port was silted up by the river Meandros. In ancient times it is estimated over 250,000 people lived in this once thriving city. |
